Black Veil Brides tore up the stage at the Fillmore in Charlotte last Saturday, as fans from all over NC gathered to rock along with them. Playing to a sold out venue, the energy was through the roof.
Opening the night up with ‘Knives and Pens’, the band immediately got the crowd going and had longtime fans in a rush of nostalgia before jumping right into a more recent hit, ‘Bleeders’. With drastic lighting and dark ambience, the lead singer, Andy Biersack, showcased his incredible vocals. Much to the audience's enjoyment, Andy also likes to interact with the crowd and connect with his fans. He made it a point to react to signs that fans held up, share personal stories, and crack jokes. The energy in the room was unmatched!
Notably, the group mentioned loving the crowd in Charlotte and their fondness for the city itself as one of their opening bands, Archers, is native to the area. The other opening acts included Autumn Kings, a band formed in Canada, and Caskets, a band that hails from England. Black Veil Brides was originally formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2006, and consists of Andy Biersack (band founder and lead vocals), Jake Pitts (lead guitar), Jinxx (rhythm guitar and violin), Christian “CC” Coma (drums), and the band's newest addition as of 2019, Lonny Eagleton (bass guitar).
Mid way through the set the band made a planned exit off stage and came back to the cheers of “Black Veil Brides! Black Veil Brides!” from a lively packed house. When they began to perform one of their newest releases, ‘Cut’, Lilith Czar joined them on stage to sing along with her husband, Andy. The audience erupted in cheers as the two shared a passionate kiss mid song!
To close out the night the guys added a touch of the whimsical, whipping out bubble machines and jamming out to ‘In the End’, another classic that everyone had been waiting for! The show couldn’t have ended better. I think I speak for everyone when I say that NC can’t wait to have Black Veil Brides back again one day!
