CANNONS SHINES BRIGHT AT THE FILLMORE
Cannons delivered a mesmerizing performance at The Fillmore Charlotte, bringing their signature dreamy atmosphere to life with a set centered around tracks from their latest album, Everything Glows. Standout performances of “Starlight” and “Light As a Feather” had the crowd fully immersed, while fan-favorite hits like “Purple Sun,” “Bad Dream,” and my personal favorite, “Hurricane,” kept the energy soaring throughout the night.
What truly elevated the night was the chemistry between the performers on stage. Michelle Joy’s vocals were flawless—smooth, ethereal, and effortlessly captivating—floating above every track with studio-level precision. Ryan Clapham’s guitar work added shimmering textures and standout lead moments that gave each song even more depth live, while Paul Davis’s tight, dynamic drumming provided the pulse that drove the entire set. A special highlight came during “Carousel,” when Jade locked into the song’s groovy bassline and added an extra layer of funk to the band’s already hypnotic sound.
Closing the evening with their smash hit “Fire for You” was the perfect finale, as fans sang “fire” until the very last note echoed through the venue. Sadly, all things must come to an end, and with that Cannons exited the stage—leaving behind a crowd still buzzing from the dreamy, electrifying performance they had just witnessed. Cannons once again proved why they remain one of the most magnetic live acts in indie pop.
