It’s pronounced ROO-AYE.
Paige and Jax of Raue kicked off their US Tour in Durham, NC at Stancykz Music Bar, and what a kick off it was! They were supported by Durham natives, Lilly Flower, and tour partners Olive Vox.

After an overdriven, indie-fueled opening set by Durham natives Lilly Flower, Raue’s tour partners, Olive Vox took the stage. Olive Vox delivered high-energy Alt-Rock featuring everything you could want in a punky rocky set: A bleeding lead singer, broken guitar strings, a towering bassist driving the pulse in lockstep with a drummer who lives in the pocket.
Raue’s set kicked off with Paige and Jax bathed in red light before Paige launched herself off of Jax’s kick drum. The band’s riotous energy was met by the crowd immediately. Mosh pits erupted two songs in, and the intensity ratched higher each time Paige stomped a distortion pedal or Jax fell into a drum groove. Their set covered quite a bit of their discovery, from the new tunes off their newest EP, too scared to explain, to their hit 2023 single KARMA!!, both Raue and the crowd jumped and jammed all night.
In one of the few moments of calm, Paige commended the Durham crowd for keeping pace with her energy. As their set came to an end, Paige leapt from the stage into the crowd to play amidst the mosh pits and the roaring of the audience nearly drained out Raue’s pummeling sound. Their set came to an end with Paige atop Jax’s drumkit as she strummed the final chord. Before the chord finished ringing out, we in the audience called for an encore.
Of course, Raue obliged.  We were graced with an unreleased song that Raue is intending to include on a future album. If you see this two-piece coming to a venue near you, do yourself a favor and check them out.
