Simple Plan really is bigger than you think. August 15th they had a SOLD OUT stop at Red Hat amphitheater in Raleigh. Not even record breaking temperatures could stop fans from lining up to experience the nostalgia and create new memories.
First up is 3OH!3, the crowd came early and it was already packed. They came in and brought energy and wonderful vibes getting the crowd amped despite it being 100 degrees and humidity that rivaled the Amazon rainforest, like seriously, our weatherman actually said our humidity was on par with it for this one. The highlight for me was seeing Jess Bowen smash the drums.
Next up was Bowling for Soup, who took us on a trip back to the early 2000’s. They blasted through their classic hits, and familiar favorites. So many people brought their kiddos and all ages were having a blast.
Simple Plan proved just how big they still are with a full night sing along. The scoobies were out in full force and I commend every single one of them because with the heat that is a level of dedication you do not see these days. Even the band remarked that it may have been the hottest show they ever played. We also had a special appearance and crowd surfing from Stormy from the Carolina hurricanes.
Overall the night was full of nostalgia, but also gave way to new memories, newer songs, and show exactly why these bands are bigger than ever.
