The Nth Power wields their sound as an instrument of unity, brought forth to expand bonds of love and comradery in their audience. But when paired with Grammy award winner Eric Gales, you'd swear that the call for love resonates more as a battle cry demanding action and change.
The roar of the drum and bass mixed with the melodic turmoil of the electric guitars stuns you and holds you hostage on the entire ride. Drummer Nikki Glaspie drove the rhythm, shifting between funk and jazz beats that set the pace for the entire show. Bassist Nate Edgar and guitarist Nick Cassarino accompanied on strings as they gave their captive audience a preview of their upcoming album “Never Alone”. All this cultivated into a storm of sound that truly gives makes the Nth Power live up to their name.
Eric Gales' legendary blues playing was showcased in all its glory. The Oscar's winning soundtrack "Elijah" ripped through the air as Gales performed along with an impressive accompaniment from The Nth Power, making you believe for a second you stepped into the film itself. Both Gales and The Nth Power can be found playing locally around Greensboro, and I can say for a fact that I will be excitedly looking forward to their future shows together.
